Training

Authorized representatives must successfully complete the university’s free online Youth Safety Training for Authorized Representatives before interacting with minors, and on an annual basis thereafter.

Access with NetID

If you have a NetID/University of Arizona email address, please follow the instructions below.

  1. Login to D2L.
  2. Select Discover.
  3. Search for Youth Safety Training for Authorized Representatives.

Note: If you completed the training in the past and need to access it again but are having trouble finding it, click the waffle icon at the top of the page. You will find the training in the list that populates.

  1. Select Enroll in Course.
  2. Select Open Course.
  3. Scroll to the bottom of the page. Select Training Module.

You are now ready to begin the course. Ensure your speakers are on and follow the directions to progress through the five modules and complete the 20-question quiz at the end of the training. Successful completion means receiving a passing score of 80% or higher on the quiz.


Access without NetID

If you do not have a NetID/University of Arizona email address, please first check with your supervisor to see if you will be issued a NetID. 

  • If your supervisor informs you that you will be issued a NetID, please wait to be issued your NetID and then complete the training per instructions above. 
  • If your supervisor informs you that you will not be issued a NetID, please ask your supervisor to email the Office of Youth Protection (youthprotection@arizona.edu)

Certificate of Completion

  1. Once you have successfully completed the quiz, you will be prompted to view your Certificate of Completion. When prompted, select View Awards.
  2. Select Generate Certificate to generate a PDF of your Certificate of Completion. 
  3. Save the PDF of your Certificate of Completion. You may generate another copy of your certificate at a later time by logging back into the course and selecting Awards in the course menu bar.
  4. Email the PDF of your Certificate of Completion to the program supervisor.
